Our psychologists in Aspendale specialise in providing counselling services to individuals, couples, families and organisations. Our fully registered and qualified psychologists are on hand to help you resolve life's issues across a range of counselling areas including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, stress, anger management and so much more. We offer day, evening and Saturday appointments so you can see our psychologists at a time that's convenient for you. We are open 8am to 9pm on weekdays, and 8am to 6pm on Saturdays. All Life Resolutions® practices offer on the spot Medicare rebates, as well as private health insurance rebates and concession rates. Making an appointment with one of our psychologists is easy.

Relationship Counselling
Couples attend relationship counselling for various reasons including:
- Pre-marriage counselling
- The changing relationship after a baby is born
- Relationship difficulties
- Verbal and/or Physical violence
- Managing Separation and Divorce
- Coping with Children
- The challenges of step families and step-parenting
- Rebuilding the relationship after an affair
There are often warning signs that a relationship is under stress. These may include:
- Arguing over small issues. “All we ever do is argue.”
- Recurring arguments which are never resolved. “We always argue over money.”
- Feeling like your partner doesn’t understand or care anymore. “She just doesn’t understand me.”
- Decrease in intimacy. “I’m not attracted to him anymore. It’s been months since we had sex.”
- Choosing to spend more time at work.
- Forming emotional or sexual relationships with another person. “She cares more about me than my wife.”
- Arguing over parenting. “He never backs me up.”

What can I expect from a first session?
A Life Resolutions®' psychologist will first take time to develop a sound understanding of what your issues are before developing specific goals that you are committed to work towards. These may include strategies to help you change unhealthy patterns of behaviour, to implement more effective coping strategies to manage difficult situations, or to get closure on past events. Ultimately, the aim of counselling is to get you to a point in your life where you are moving forward and feeling good about yourself and your relationships.
Confidentiality
Each counselling session is private and confidential. The information gathered during your visits is for the purposes of assessment, diagnosis and treatment, which will help us provide you with the best possible support. As set out by the APS Code of Ethics, limitations to this confidentiality apply if there is an immediate or specified risk of harm to an identifiable person's safety, or if a client's file is subpoenaed by a court of law.

Get your MEDICARE rebate on the spot
As of September 2008, you will be able to receive Medicare rebates immediately into your bank account when paying for your session by cash, EFTPOS or cheque at all Life Resolutions® locations.
In most cases, your money will be transferred into your cheque or savings account almost immediately, meaning there's no need for you to visit a Medicare office. |
